Job Summary
Apt Resources is seeking a dedicated Cow Pusher to join our clients team at a leading Dairy this vital role you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of cows within the farm supporting milking operations and maintaining the overall welfare of the herd. A passionate individual who thrives in a farm environment and possesses a strong understanding of animal behavior will excel in this position.
Responsibilities
- Safely and calmly guide cows to and from the milking parlor according to the farms schedule.
- Ensure cows are handled with care and minimal stress.
- Assist in sorting cows for milking treatment or veterinary inspection.
- Observe cows for signs of lameness illness or unusual behavior and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in lanes holding areas and milking zones.
- Support other farm tasks such as feeding bedding or cleaning when required.
- Follow farm safety and animal welfare standards at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with dairy cows or livestock is an advantage (training can be provided).
- Understanding of basic animal behavior and safe handling practices.
- Physically fit and able to work long hours or in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable punctual and able to follow instructions and schedules.
- Strong sense of responsibility and respect for animal welfare.
