Job Summary

As part of the AbbVie and Leadership team of AA MEA develops and/or implements the compliance and governance program across the region.  Works to adapt / implement corporate policies and procedures develop Affiliate SOPs wherever required for the implementation of compliance program develop and provide relevant training for employees and third parties on compliance related topics.  Provides compliance guidance advice and support to Affiliate and Regional Leadership Teams and General Manager.  Monitor compliance due diligence reviews of third parties and compliance vetting of specific transactions.  Engages in risk assessment exercises and business projects to ensure compliance requirements are met.  Helps identify monitoring needs and perform monitoring activities to minimize compliance risks.  Conducts reviews and investigations on specific compliance issues.

In addition the post holder will implement the corporate ethics program across MEA affiliates adapting the program where necessary and providing ethics training and support.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. Commercial Support: 30%
    • Provide guidance and advice to AbbVie Affiliate Leadership Team commercial teams in country and/or region across business division proactively supporting compliance matters to minimize risk.
    • Attends guides and actively participates in Affiliate/ Regional Leadership Team and Compliance Committee
    • Conduct ongoing risk assessment of third-party activities and any other areas of activity that require regular review. Conduct routine and ad hoc reviews and resolve noted issues.
    • Monitor due diligence activities as needed for both current and new third parties in accordance with AbbVie policies and procedures.

 

  1. Compliance Policies and Procedures: 25%
    • Create and establish appropriate country policies procedures and standards to mitigate compliance risk within AA MEA Affiliates. Establish and maintain the training matrix for affiliates and monitor compliance related training completed.
    • Work closely with the regional compliance representatives MEA leadership team and Country Manager to understand the risk environment and implement adequate compliance policies procedures and standards across the business.
    • Provide guidance on AbbVie and  Allergan Aesthetics compliance expectations and review both internal and third-party controls and standards and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve any issues.

 

  1. Compliance Training and Monitoring program: 15%
    •    Develop and provide relevant engaging and interactive compliance training for internal employees and with Allergan Aesthetics business partners employees or agents as appropriate.
    • Ensure training materials are effectively and accurately communicated to employees or agents. Update business divisions and other support functions as appropriate on relevant compliance news alerts and other developments.
    • Support and implement the compliance monitoring program across country with the focus on prevention of compliance issues and appropriate risk management. Perform monitoring awareness and education activities across the company.

 

  1. Compliance Investigation and Reporting: 20%
    • Managing compliance deviations escalating matters appropriately to International Compliance.
    • Support (as needed)  ad hoc investigations into potential compliance issues as agreed with International Investigations team.
    • Prepare and maintain regular progress reports and updates on compliance reviews for MEA management and International Compliance.
    • Identify gaps and pitfalls within current compliance controls to ensure those issues could be resolved or mitigated to prevent potential misconduct.

 

  1. Leading People: 10%
  • Lead support and develop the OEC team enabling them to fulfill their potential.
  • Establish review and recommend changes for organizational structure so that the structure within the country maximizes organizational performance.
  • Lead activities around performance management talent management motivation development and succession planning for Allergan Aesthetics employees.
  • Ensure that AbbVie WWW culture is embedded in all business practices.

 

  1. External Relationships/ Main Contacts:

Ensure the development of a broad network of productive relationships with key contacts opinion leaders authorities regulatory authorities and agencies payers industry associations trade academic and patient care groups.

  • APAC MEA OEC Director
  • Affiliate and Regional Management Teams
  • Regional General Manager
  • Heads of the functional teams based across MEA Affiliate Countries including Regulatory Legal HR Finance and others
  • MEA and APAC MEA Compliance Department
  • Business partners distributors wholesalers and other third parties

Qualifications :

1. Education and Experience:

  • University degree or equivalent (scientific business or legal)
  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role preferably in the pharma consumer healthcare or related industries
  • Relevant experience working in healthcare compliance role
  • Experience in establishing and running compliance programs for ABAC risk
  • Excellent communication skills fluent in English (written and oral)

2. Leadership and Management Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing direct reports and leading a team towards achieving targets and objectives
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify opportunities develop strategies and make data-driven decisions
  • Excellent communication and people skills to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at various levels within the organization
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously

5. Language and Cultural Competence:

  • Fluent in English and proficiency in other languages spoken in the MEA region is highly advantageous
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively in a diverse and multicultural environment

6. Travel:

  • Willingness to travel within the Affiliate and across the region and occasionally internationally as required for business needs.
