Accountant - Construction
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a solid background in contracting and construction accounting to join our clients team in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations handling project cost accounting and ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily accounting transactions including payables receivables journal entries and bank reconciliations.

Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial reports.

Track project costs analyze variances and ensure accurate job costing and cost control.

Handle subcontractor payments supplier reconciliations and retentions.

Manage VAT compliance filing and documentation.

Process payroll and maintain accurate records of salaries benefits and deductions.

Maintain general ledger and ensure timely month-end closing.

Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Coordinate with external auditors and support the audit process.

Ensure compliance with UAE tax laws and relevant regulations.
Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.

Minimum 3-4 years of accounting experience in the construction or contracting sector in sharjah

Strong understanding of project-based accounting and cost control.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Tally QuickBooks Zoho or ERP systems).

Knowledge of UAE VAT laws and compliance procedures.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.
