International Community Schools Abu Dhabi is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of English for Al Maharat Private School to join our team for the academic year 2026/27. Job Overview:
The Head of English will lead the development and delivery of the English curriculum ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across all secondary school levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff within the department supporting student progress and fostering a love for literature and language among students.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Education or related field (minimum requirement)
- At least 4 years teaching experience in an international or British curriculum setting
- Strong knowledge of UK National Curriculum requirements for Secondary Education
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams or departments preferred
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage students effectively
- Ability to develop innovative lesson plans that cater to diverse learner needs
- Competent in using educational technology tools to enhance learning outcomes

Lead and manage the HR function across all ICS branches reporting directly to senior management. Oversee and coordinate the recruitment process for teaching and administrative staff both locally and internationally. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with UAE labor laws and school regulations. Provide guidance and support to HR Officers at each branch on employee relations disciplinary actions and performance management.

Required Education:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field (Masters degree or HR certification is an advantage).Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership experience in the education sector or school operations in the UAE is highly understanding of UAE labor laws recruitment best practices and HR policies.
